Longmoor Primary School

Lifelong Learners

Hello and welcome to Year 4's Diplodocus class page! Here you will find all the information that you might need regarding the exciting learning and activities that we will be enjoying this year! You will also find copies of the homework, spelling lists and our half-termly class newsletters.

My name is Miss Mills and this year I will be teaching in Year 4! I can't believe that this is now my 8th year here and I am really looking forward to be working in Year 4 this year. Many of you may know already that I am really passionate about sports and staying active and one thing I love about being P.E. coordinator at Longmoor is getting to take lots of different children to sporting events and festivals. I love seeing everyone have so much fun whilst staying fit and healthy! I also love spending time with my family and friends and enjoy going for long walks or trips to the seaside!

I really can't wait to get to know all you all and I know that we are going to have so much fun with our learning challenges this year!

During our first half term, we will be finding out all about the Romans and learning about sound in our Science topic.

It is really important that all children get into the habit of completing their weekly numeracy/literacy homework, learn their spellings and read at home wherever possible.

Below you will find a table which tells you when homework goes out and will be due in.

WHISPER - Anonymous Reporting Tool

Sometimes it is really hard to tell an adult if you feel like you are being bullied. That is why we have subscribed to WHISPER. It is an anonymous reporting tool which allows you or your child to report any incidents of bullying and cyber bullying in confidence.

Click on the web link below to fill in a report. It will then be emailed to Miss Hughes (Online Safety Coordinator). Messages are checked as often as possible. In order to resolve issues effectively and promptly, please include your name. This will be kept in the strictest of confidence.

If you have any concerns or worries about your child regarding online safety and would like further advice, please contact Miss Hughes or Mr Lyons, the school's online safety co-ordinators or speak to Mrs Dainty, Headteacher.
