Lifelong Learners

Welcome

Reception New Starters 2020-2021

Welcome to Longmoor Primary School

We are really looking forward to your child joining us in Reception and can't wait to meet them very soon. Due to COVID19 we are unable to offer a parents meeting but we hope you will find some information here which will help you to prepare your child for when they start with us.

In the meantime, you should have been sent a letter with some forms to fill out. Please ensure you return these forms to our school office as soon as possible so your child can be inputted into our school database and any appropriate free school meals/milk can be applied for, as these applications may take longer to process due to the current situation.

To familiarise yourself with the day to day running of our Reception classes please feel free to read through our Welcome to Reception booklet below..

UNIVERSAL SCHOOL MEALS

All children in Reception are entitled to a free school meal every day whilst they are in school. We encourage parents to try their child on school dinners as children will have access to a variety of meals each week and are encouraged to try new foods. If your child has any known food allergies please contact Mrs Bellingham with a medical letter of the known allergies and she will advise you of the next steps. If your child has a specific diet due to their religion, please contact our school office.

Please see below our menu for September.

SCHOOL UNIFORM

Please see the link below to our school uniform section on the website.

We have recently updated our health and safety policy inline with the current government guidance for COVID-19 and require children in the EYFS to be independent in self- care and dressing.

Please be mindful of this when purchasing school uniform for your child. Children need to be able to fasten their own trousers, shoes and put on their own coats. Please opt for easy fastenings to help your child and to support us in school in keeping everyone safe. Please do not send your child to school in laces or shoes that are difficult for them to fasten and support your child by encouraging them to practice self dressing during the holidays.

If you require any additional information about Longmoor School, please feel free to navigate yourself around our school website.

We hope you keep safe and look forward to meeting you and your child very soon.
