    Trampolining Experience.

On Wednesday 14th October, five girls went to The Long Eaton School to take part in a trampolining workshop.  The girls had a great time, learning new techniques and jumping really high!  They listened well and watched the young sports leaders demonstrate the techniques and then had a go themselves.  Sometimes the girls were a bit like Tigger bouncing all over the trampoline but it was all experienced with huge smiles on their faces.  By the end of the session, Millie (Y3), Megan (Y4), Paige (Y4), Holly (Y5) and Alex (Y6) could do: a straddle jump, a tuck jump and a touch pike as well as a seat drop and swivel hips (seat drop, ½ turn, seat drop).  They learnt a lot in one session and they all looked confident and very impressive at the end when they were performing what they had learnt to the rest of the group!

    7 A-side Football Tournament.

On Tuesday October 6th, Mr Bunhejee took the year 3/4’s to Wilsthorpe for a 7 aside football tournament. 6 teams entered the tournament from Grange, Dovedale, Ashbrook, Risley and Sawley. All the games were fantastically close. The players were extremely committed and played well as a team. In the end the team won 2 and lost 3, finishing 4t overall. Well done to Archie, Dylan, Tommy and Logan from year 3 and Kenyian, Lawrence, Ruben, Ashton, Kairell, Daniel and Callum-Deo who represented the school brilliantly and did themselves proud. A great experience.

I would also like to say a big thank you to Mrs Wenham and Mrs Tuck who helped with transport and to all the family and friends who braved the torrential rain to come along and support the team.
