Lifelong Learners

Welcome

FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE (Miss Wood Y6)

Hello! Welcome to Year 6!

My name is Miss Wood and will be teaching the Florence Nightingale Class this year. This will be my fifth year teaching at Longmoor and I've loved every minute of it! In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and go on walks in the Peak District with my sausage dog (Elvis) who you'll no doubt hear all about.  We have a challenging and exciting year ahead of us but I know with hard work, determination and lots of laughter, you'll be able to achieve anything you set your mind to!

In our class you'll also meet Mrs Thorpe and Mrs Lee, who will be our class teaching assistants, and Miss Hughes, who will teach you on a Thursday afternoon. We have so many fantastic topics to learn about this year, including: deserts, slavery, the Victorians, and WWI & WWII.

WHISPER - Anonymous Reporting Tool

Sometimes it is really hard to tell an adult if you feel like you are being bullied. That is why we have subscribed to WHISPER. It is an anonymous reporting tool which allows you or your child to report any incidents of bullying and cyber bullying in confidence.

Click on the web link below to fill in a report. It will then be emailed to Miss Hughes (Online Safety Coordinator). Messages are checked as often as possible. In order to resolve issues effectively and promptly, please include your name. This will be kept in the strictest of confidence.

If you have any concerns or worries about your child regarding online safety and would like further advice, please contact Miss Hughes or Mr Lyons, the school's online safety co-ordinators or speak to Mrs Dainty, Headteacher.
