Welcome

FLORENCE NIGHTINGALE (Miss Wood Y6)

Hello! Welcome to Year 6!

My name is Miss Wood and will be teaching the Florence Nightingale Class this year. This will be my third year teaching at Longmoor and I've loved every minute of it! Some of you will already know me, as I will have taught you in Year 5, and I'm really looking forward to all the new adventures that Year 6 has to offer! We have a challenging and exciting year ahead of us but I know with hard work, determination and lots of laughter, you'll be able to achieve anything you set your mind to!

Meet the Florence Nightingale Team

In our class you'll also meet Mrs Stacey, who will be our class teaching assistant, and Miss Hughes, who will teach you on a Wednesday afternoon. We have so many fantastic topics to learn about this year, including: deserts, slavery, the Victorians, and WWI & WWII.

Dates for your diary:

2nd and 3rd September- Inset days.

6th September- Children are back to school.

10th September- Classification WOW day.

22nd October- Break up for half term.

Why do I wash my hands? A helpful guide to help your children understand the importance of hand washing.

WHISPER - Anonymous Reporting Tool

Sometimes it is really hard to tell an adult if you feel like you are being bullied. That is why we have subscribed to WHISPER. It is an anonymous reporting tool which allows you or your child to report any incidents of bullying and cyber bullying in confidence.

Click on the web link below to fill in a report. It will then be emailed to Miss Hughes (Online Safety Coordinator). Messages are checked as often as possible. In order to resolve issues effectively and promptly, please include your name. This will be kept in the strictest of confidence.

If you have any concerns or worries about your child regarding online safety and would like further advice, please contact Miss Hughes or Mr Lyons, the school's online safety co-ordinators or speak to Mrs Dainty, Headteacher.
