The Longmoor PTFA is in full swing with events lined up throughout the school year.  Last year we raised a fabulous £7,088.88 which could not have been achieved without the support of all children, parents and staff at school. This meant that in total we were able to spend a huge £7,457.11 funding numerous projects including the lovely new playgrounds markings.

All funds raised this year will be put towards supporting children in school. Projects that are already underway and being funded by the PTFA include a new modular stage for the hall, new equipment for the playground, a school merit shop and star pupil awards.

Ladies Shopping Event 2017

Thank you to all the Ladies who joined us for the ‘Ladies Night Out’ event on Friday 10th November. The event was extremely well attended. Twenty six stalls attended this year, selling various items from gifts, cupcakes/cakes, cards, jewellery, high-street clothes, handbags, books and makeup to companies offering beauty treatments such as manicures and facials. As ever, the bar was extremely popular as was the raffle. All prizes were kindly donated by the stallholders themselves. We raised an impressive total of £698.39! Look at the slideshow below to catch up on memories from the night.

Gardening Morning

Saturday 14th October, 2017

A huge ‘THANK YOU’ to all the parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, staff and of course the children who joined us at school to help tidy and clear the garden and pond.  Everyone worked incredibly hard and the final results are amazing!  The atmosphere was great as everyone got stuck in to clearing the plants from the summer and the weeds. The sausage and bacon sandwiches helped to keep the gardeners going along with plenty of cups of tea!

The allotment area will be used well by the children, especially those in Gardening Club who plan on growing some lovely vegetables for us this year.

Now the pond area has been clear, it can be used safely by the children (I have already spotted a few classes in there!) We found lots of exciting wildlife in the pond from toads to frogs to newts! Eventually, we hope to replace the fence and put in a table bench for the children to sit at and work on. During the spring months, many plants and shrubs will be planted to create a beautifully smelling, colourful sensory garden that attracts plenty of interesting wildlife!

Thank you again for making this possible!

Summer Fayre - Saturday 8th July 2017

The weather didn't disappoint as we welcomed lots of visitors to our annual summer fayre. There was such a lovely atmosphere which was enhanced by performances from the Hope Gospel Community Choir, DRUMBA, Vibez Dance Works and our very own cheerleading group led by Miss Smith.

The raffle proved very popular - the first prize, which was a signed Forest shirt (worn by Forest number 11, Ben Osborn) was won by Lexie P (Y4). Lucky girl!

Thank you to everyone who came to support this event - it was the best won yet! The total profit raised was a staggering £3,095.02!! Wow! Barclays Bank have also kindly agreed to match-fund part of this amount too increasing the final total further! A huge thanks goes to all those who donated in some way either by making cakes for the cake stall, filling and donating a jar for Mrs Kirk's jar stall, donating books, toys, DVDs, teddies,  or bottles for Mrs Hooley's bottle tombola but also to those people who generously gave up their time to help set up the fayre or who manned a stall for the day. We couldn't do it without you! Thank you, thank you, thank you.
