Homework
Children will bring home creative tasks to be completed over the term. Children will have a choice of three tasks to be completed over a two week period. The idea is for children to select one and produce a quality piece of homework to be shared with the class during the homework sharing sessions. There is a homework display in our classroom where children, parents and staff can look at all the wonderful work created and be proud of their hard work. We look forward to seeing lots of wonderful pieces of work on display!
There is also a maths focus for each week; please work on the maths skills shown in the homework sheet as this will be a focus for children in maths lessons during the week. If you need another copy of the homework tasks then please download one from the link below.
Reading
Please read regularly at home- if your child brings in their reading record signed to say they have read their book they will be allowed to change it.
Please check out our reading journey display in the classroom to see where your child is. For every 40 reads they compete at home, they will receive a book prize from Mrs Dainty!

Planning
Have a look at the some of the activities we have planned for this term
PE is on a Monday and Thursday. Please make sure your child does not wear jewellery on these days, in particular earrings (studs) should be removed if your child cannot do this themselves. Please can your child bring in warm clothes and trainers as the weather begins to get cold!
Class Dojo
Class Dojo is the new reward system that we are using at Longmoor. The teachers are able to give out points for a variety of good behaviours around school.
You should have received a code to allow you to see how many points your child has got and what they were for. If you have not got it yet, please let me know and I will arrange for another one to be sent to you.
You can access the website at www.classdojo.com or download the app on Android or Apple phones and tablets
The T-rex has been asking some very silly questions, can you read and answer them?
Use your knowledge of tens and units to help out this poor dinosaur.

WHISPER - Anonymous Reporting Tool
Sometimes it is really hard to tell an adult if you feel like you are being bullied. That is why we have subscribed to WHISPER. It is an anonymous reporting tool which allows you or your child to report any incidents of bullying and cyber bullying in confidence.
Click on the web link below to fill in a report. It will then be emailed to Miss Hughes (Online Safety Coordinator). Messages are checked as often as possible. In order to resolve issues effectively and promptly, please include your name. This will be kept in the strictest of confidence.
If you have any concerns or worries about your child regarding online safety and would like further advice, please contact Miss Hughes or Mr Lyons, the school's online safety co-ordinators or speak to Mrs Dainty, Headteacher.
