On Tuesday 21st March, Miss Mills and Mrs Kirk took 10 year 5 and 6 children to the indoor athletics event at Wilsthorpe. Our team competed against 4 other schools in a variety of events including: speed bounce, chest push, javelin, vertical jump, standing jump and sprint races. All the children were fantastic, had loads of fun and represented the school admirably. Longmoor finished in 2nd place overall – well done team!
Mr Bunhejee took an eager team of Year 5 and 6’s to the tag rugby tournament at Long Eaton School on Thursday 16th March. Four teams attended as we played three very competitive games. In our first game we won 6:4 against Brooklands. Our second match was a 6:3 win against Shardlow and in the final game we lost 3:4 to Risley. The team played some excellent tag rugby and I was really proud of how well they coped with difficult conditions. Congratulations must go to Amelia, Jamie, Lily and Megan from year 6 and Kairell, Callum-Deo, Lawrence, Megan, Paige and Daniel from year 5. Thank you to Paige’s mum who braved the cold to come along and support the team and Mrs Dainty, Miss Hurt and Mr Slee for providing transport.Mr Bunhejee took an eager team of Year 5 and 6’s to the tag rugby tournament at Long Eaton School on Thursday 16th March.
